Effective 1st November 2007, Education Testing Service (ETS), which administers the GRE has planned a change in the test format of GRE General Test.

The GRE will include only one experimental question, which is of a new type. ETS claims that this change is meant to be the first phase of improvements endorsed by graduate school educators.

However, students need not fear about the experimental question affecting their scores. This question will not be counted towards the examinee’s total score.
