Alexander College is a private educational institute that provides both academic and vocational training in areas of highest need. Alexander College offers academic and foundation programs. We accept many students who are new to Canada and many for whom the English language and North American culture are a challenge. This College help these students integrate into Canadian society by teaching English, vocational programs, and the first two years of university; Alexander College provides a broad range of academic course offerings balanced with in-depth study in specific disciplines. Course Credits are transferable to the following Universities and Colleges:
Associate Degree: Alexander College's Associate of Arts Degree is a 2-year program designed to meet the standards approved by the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and published by BCCAT. Students receive 60 credits in a variety of disciplines that can be transferred as a block to other universities, including UBC, SFU and UVic.
University Transfer: Students are expected to attend Alexander College and follow the standard college/university model, taking a series of courses over a two-year period in a variety of academic areas. Students who intend to continue their academic career at another college or university are advised to prepare an academic plan to ensure that courses taken at Alexander are accepted for credit at the next institution. Our academic advisors will help each student prepare an individual program of study to meet his or her specific career goals, or simply develop a broad liberal arts education. Such a program of study normally involves a selection of courses from several disciplines that most interest the student and best meet their needs for a coherent program.
