1. International Graduate Scheme 2. Fresh Talent Working in Scotland Scheme 3. Training and work experience scheme
The international graduate scheme is replaced by Point Based System (PBS) from March 09.This scheme enables the student to work for 24 months after graduation. A student should get 75 Points to Get Qualified for this scheme. These are awarded as follows:
Student must have been awarded a United Kingdom recognized bachelor or postgraduate degree; a United Kingdom .postgraduate diploma; or a higher national diploma (HND) from a Scottish institution [20 points available].
Student studied for the award at a United Kingdom recognized or listed body; a Scottish publicly funded institution of further or higher education or acceptable private education institution (if your HND is from a Scottish institution); or hold a sponsor licence under Tier 4 of the Points Based System [20 points available]
Student period of study and/or research were while you were in the United Kingdom with entry clearance, leave to enter or to leave to remain as a student or dependant of someone with leave in any category permitting the admittance of dependants [20 points available].
The application for entry clearance under Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) is made within 12 months of obtaining the relevant qualification [15 points available].
Separate points are given for English language ability (10 points automatically awarded if the student scores 75 points for the attributes above) and the availability of funds for maintenance (10 points).Student must produce evidence of the required funds in addition to reaching the pass mark for the Attributes. Entry Clearance Officers will only award points for the sections for which student have indicated that he/she wish to claim and for which he/she have supplied the required supporting evidence.
The fresh Talent Working in Scotland scheme is part of Scottish Executives Fresh Talent initivate. This scheme will enable non-EEA nationals who have successfully completed degree, masters or P.HD at a Scottish University and have lived in Scotland during their studies to apply to stay in Scotland for up to 2 years after completing their studies.
The Training and Work Experience Scheme (TWES) enables people from outside the EEA to undertake work based Training for a professional or specific qualification.
