For the sixth year running, Indian students are the largest number of International students in the United States of America.

With an increase of 9.6% from the 2005-06, 83,833 Indian students have reached the shores of USA to study at the Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels during the year 2006-07. More than 70% students went for their Masters and Doctoral programs. Significantly, about 12,500 undergraduate students (for Bachelors level) have enrolled for in US universities during this year.

One major surprise is the increase of more than 30% applicants for non-degree and short-term program & Executive programs in US universities.

At the same time, more than 62% international students funded on their own and family for their education in USA.

Significantly, more than 43% of International students in USA are from India, Japan, China and South Korea.
