Texas Lutheran University is exclusively undergraduate university of the liberal arts, sciences and professional studies. A 184 - acre park like University was founded in 1891, and currently serves roughly 1,400 students each semester. There are currently three social fraternities on campus: Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Tau, and Sigma Phi Theta.

In 1891 in Brenham, Texas as an academy of the First German Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Texas, the school moved to Seguin, Texas in 1912. After merging with Trinity College of Round Rock, Texas and Clifton College, the school was renamed Texas Lutheran College in 1930. The institution was once again renamed to its present title of Texas Lutheran University in 1996.

Students at TLU can major in 28 different fields of study. Thirty minors are also available, as well as nine pre-professional programs.

Accreditation: - The department of kinesiology at TLU offers a curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. The TLU athletic training education program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Graduates of the athletic training education program are eligible for Texas state licensure and national certification through the NATABOC.

SAT: - TLU will offer the SAT Preparation course before each exam date between now and June. The cost of $130 includes the test preparation book.
